Buffy Sainte-Marie shines despite sabotage in new documentary ‘Carry It On’

The New Yorker’s love-hate relationship with the Buffyverse has been ongoing for years.

Back in 2004, she penned a very public lament for “Joss Whedon and the World of Buffy.” She even threatened the very existence of the show with a letter to the editor.

In 2009, she expressed admiration for the show’s final episode.

Since then, she has continued to love it, but she hasn’t fully bought in.

However, with her fandom, Sainte-Marie began to think.

Her obsession with the show and the fans’ vitriol only drove her further away from the show, she said in a new documentary called ‘Carry It On.’

Sainte-Marie’s love of the show has been growing since the beginning of her friendship with her co-star Joss Whedon. But her relationship with the show that she’s called her life, changed a lot over the years.
